PIM API - Application Programming Interface
The full-featured PIM API offered by PIMinto is a REST Application Programming Interface for integration with external applications, websites, and business systems and channels. All access is controlled by PIM API keys and every feature that is available to users in the UI connects via the PIM API. This assures that the API first architecture of PIMinto maintains Integrity. Access permissions, views, and transforms can be assigned to individual API keys to control, restrict, and modify the operations and resulting data that is accessible or returned for an API key.
Data Streams
Breaking the traditional PIM API model, PIMinto's API offers its unique data streams. The ability to query and serve structured data directly to your channel visitors directly from your Product Information System. This data is proxied THROUGH your headless eCommerce applications using the PIM API. Traditional solutions require that you duplicate PIM data and synchronize with nightly feeds across your product platforms. With this methos each application uses its stored product data to determine what data to display to the user. Our PIM breaks this dependency. While it is possible to continue to use this method, our PIM has redefined how applications connect to and use structured data returned by the PIM API, and what these data results look like. Our PIM's method provides faster go to market, always in sync and up to the millisecond synchronization. No more waiting for scheduled processes.
For Developers
Data streams allow you to pass your customer category, search, and filter criteria directly to PIMinto via the PIM API for lightning-fast results. Our PIM returns structured category, product, and variant data that allows for easily proxied product information to be displayed to application users. Apply HTML transformations and styles directly to the API results and you are done. No product data needs to be stored inside of, or processed by your application or or servers in order to display rich, navigable product information to your users. We are not aware of any other PIM that provides the depth of structured data results that are needed to give end users a rich, cohesive end-user experience that provides comprehensive UI cognizant search and filter results without requiring that you locally process some product data.
